Zmicier Zhylunovich

Smizer Schylunowitsch (also by his stage name Zischka Hartny known,. * 23 Oktoberjul / November 4 1887greg in Kopyl in Minsk, . † April 11, 1937 in Mogilev ) was a Belarusian politician and writer.

He took part in the revolution of 1905/1907 and was a member of the Belarusian Socialist Hramada. In December 1919 he was at the head of the government in Belarus.

Later he worked as a cultural politician, writer and critic. His major work, the novel juices of Neuland (1914/1929) dealt with the emergence of revolutionary consciousness in the people of Belarus. His stories from the twenties of the 20th century tell of the events of the Russian Civil War and the development of new forms of life in Belarus.

In the Stalin era Schylunowitsch was arrested and later admitted to a psychiatric hospital, where he committed suicide in 1937.
