Conservation area

The basin of the lake was created by Zmulner Toteismasse from the branch of a glacier that retreated in a westerly direction Glantal. The lake is located in a 40 hectare nature reserve in the midst agriculturally intensively used cropland. It drains to the northern Glan.

Through the fish water owners are the following types, secured partly by stocking, reported:

  • Noble crayfish (Astacus astacus )
  • Pike (Esox lucius)
  • Catfish ( Silurus glanis )
  • Carp ( Cyprinus carpio, with natural reproduction )
  • Roach ( Rutilus rutilus )
  • Rudd ( Scardinius erythrophthalmus )
  • Tench ( Tinca tinca, busy)
  • Perch (Perca fluviatilis)
  • Zander ( Sander lucioperca )
