Mallinella shimojanai

The Ant Hunter ( Zodariidae ) are a family of 797 species in 66 genera worldwide, of which only three species of one genus, namely Zodarion in Central Europe are native. Most members of this family hunt ants, but are also some jumping spiders and smooth belly spiders specialize in catching ants.

There are Zodariidae that look like ants. Although each type of ant species resembles that she hunts, the similarity is not very large. The spiders live near an ant nest and use their ant -like behaviors in order unmolested in and out to go in the nest. The spiders go only on the three posterior pairs of legs; when they encounter an ant, they touch it with their front legs, as would an ant with their antennae. If they have already caught an ant, they offer it to the other ants; it is then held for another ant, carrying a dead conspecific from the nest.

Probably serves the similarity with ants also protect against herbivores, the disdain the supposedly inedible ant.
