Zoltán Kovács (politician, 1957)

Zoltán Kovács ( born December 1, 1957 in Zirc ) is a Hungarian lawyer and politician.

Life

He studied law at the Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest. Between 1982 and 1990 he worked as a lawyer in Papa. In 1988 he became a member of the national conservative party Fidesz - Hungarian Civic Union. He was from 1990 to 2011 mayor of Papa. In 1998 he was elected to the Hungarian Parliament. From 2010 to 2011 he was the Chairman of the Committee on Local Government and Regional Development.
