Zoltan Sarosy

Zoltan L. Sárosy ( born August 23, 1906 in Budapest ) is a Canadian chess player.

Sárosy received in 1943 the Hungarian Champion title, which was not the same as winning the Hungarian Championship. After the Second World War, where he was for a time in a German refugee camp, he moved to France in 1948 and 1950 to Canada. There he won the 1963 Championship of Toronto.

In Canada Sárosy began with correspondence chess, in which he 1967, 1972 and 1981 won the Canadian Championships in 1988 and received the title of International Master. In 2006 he was inducted into the Canadian Chess Hall of Fame. Even at the age of 102 years from 2008 to 2009 reached Zarosy 2nd place in a correspondence chess tournament of the German e- mail chess clubs (DESC ). He joined in late 2010 due to age out of the DESC.

Sárosy led the move order 1.c4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Nf3 Nc6 4.g3 g6 5.d4 in chess theory.
