Zoltán Szécsi

Zoltán Szécsi ( born December 22, 1977 in Budapest) is a Hungarian water polo goalie.

Szécsi began his career with the club BVSC Budapest, with whom he was 1996-1999 Hungarian Champion. After the 2004 Olympics Szécsi changed hands several times the club, he played in Italy Camogli.

Szécsi debuted in 1998 in the Hungarian national team. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, he won his first Olympic gold medal. After bronze at the European Championships in 2001 and 2003 followed in Barcelona 2003, the world champion title. In Athens at the 2004 Olympics, he helped to defend the gold medal of 2000. In the water polo World Cup 2005, the team lost in the final against the team from Serbia and Montenegro, two years later the Hungarians occupied at the Water Polo World Cup 2007 Croatia behind in second place. At the Olympic Games in 2008, the Hungarians won the finals against the team from the United States. For Szécsi it was the third Olympic victory in a row.

In 1999, the Hungarian team won the World Cup FINA, 2002 and 2006, Hungary occupied the second place respectively.

Zoltán Szécsi is 1,98 m tall and his competition weight is 93 kg.
