Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden

Zorg en Zekerheid suffering is a Dutch basketball club from suffering. The club was three times Dutch champion basketball.

History

The club was founded in 1958 as Bona Stars. 1967 the club played its first season in the top Dutch basketball league, the Eredivisie. It had been renamed the BS and suffering against the bigger teams, such as Amsterdam was the team a chance. This changed in the following years. Mercasol suffering, as the club was now, broke into the top group, but failed in the play-offs regularly early. When Parker became the main sponsor, the team won the championship for the first time, in the final to beat Punch Delft.

Enthusiasm for basketball rose after winning the title. 1979 Leiden played before 11,000 visitors in the Groenoordhallen against Den Bosch, which to this day is a national attendance record.

At the European level, the association drew attention to himself, as you failed to Emerson Varese in the European Cup winners until the semi-finals.

However, the Leyden could not repeat the performance in the title year in duration.

1983 rose Elmex as a namesake, they still won the Haarlem Basketball Week rather insignificant before Elmex abandoned its commitment again and the club descended voluntarily for financial reasons.

After more than two decades in the insignificance of the now sponsored by Zorg en Zekerheid club peaked in 2006, again the first division. You could re- establish itself in this and in 2011 for the second time champion. Dutch Cup they picked in the same season and in 2012. 's Euro Challenge 2012 they came to the second group stage.

2013, the third championship was won.
