Geography
Zöschen between Merseburg and Leipzig to the puddle, south of Raßnitzer lake.

History
From 2006 to 2009 Zöschen belonged to the administrative community Leuna Kötzschau. Until the incorporation into the town Leuna on 31 December 2009 Zöschen was an independent municipality.

Memorial
Towards the end of World War II, in April 1944, a work camp was built for hundreds of prisoners who did forced labor in Leuna in place. A Cemetery with memorial stone commemorates 500 prisoners who have died due to inhuman conditions.

By Zöschen the highway runs 181 of Merseburg to Leipzig. The Federal Highway 9 is in close proximity ( behind Gunthersdorf towards Leipzig, about 5 km ) of Zöschen. The operation on the railway route Leipzig - Merseburg was discontinued in 1998.
