Zöschingen

Zöschingen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube and a member of the administrative community Syrgenstein. It lies directly on the border with Baden- Württemberg.

Geography

Geographical Location

Zöschingen located in a small valley at the foothills of the Swabian Alb. The Rostelbach, which opens into the Egau, flows through the village.

Geology

About 500 meters north of the center of Zöschingen is the Zigeunerfelsen, a weathered rock outcrop. The protected natural monument ( Geotopnummer 773R001 ) measures about 20 m in length, 12 m in width and reaches a height of about 8 m. These are erosion remnants of Malmkalken, Ries ejecta masses of rubble as a result of Meteoritenimpakts in Ries.

History

The first written reference can be traced back to 1257. Zöschingen once belonged to the Teutonic Order, Bailiwick of Franconia, and in 1806 added to the Kingdom of Bavaria under the Act of Confederation. Close proximity to local sports ground, the remains of the castle of the former local lords are.

Policy

In the local elections 2008 accounted for all eight seats on the Community list, the only nomination in this election.

Coat of arms

Since 1969, the community Zöschingen runs its own coat of arms. Wind farm

In Zöschingen the largest at this time Bürgerwindpark Bavaria was the 2012/13 New energy and Honold built by the company VenSol wind power and officially started in early May 2013. The wind farm consists of 8 wind turbines of the specially-designed for low wind conditions type Nordex N117/2400. The plants that were built on 120 meters high steel towers have a rated power of 2.4 MW, the rotor diameter is 117 meters.
