Zoubeir Baya

Zoubaier Baya ( born May 15, 1971 in M'saken, Tunisia ) is a Tunisian former professional soccer player.

In 78 countries playing in the jersey of the Tunisian national football team Baya scored 16 goals.

Bayas talent was recognized early. In his birthplace M'saken he first came into contact with a football and went from here to Étoile Sportive du Sahel in Sousse. He was the central figure in the midfield. Had his club until then mostly in the shadow of the capital club from Tunis, he won in 1997 with his team for the first time the national championship. Shortly thereafter he moved into the German Bundesliga.

For the SC Freiburg midfielder from 1997 to 2001, graduated a total of 85 league games (15 goals), and 29 games in the Bundesliga 2 (6 goals). He then played for the Turkish first division club Beşiktaş Istanbul, before he returned to Étoile Sportive du Sahel.

On August 16, 2000 has been Zoubaier Baya in the World XI against the then reigning world champions France.
