Zoutelande

Zoutelande is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland and is one of the group consisting of a total of 13 villages municipality of Veere. Zoutelande has 1517 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2009) and consists of the nucleus and the hamlets Boudewijnskerke, Sint Janskerke, Snabbeldorp and Werendijke. Until June 30, 1966 Zoutelande was an independent municipality.

Tourism is the main source of income for today's Zoutelande. Zoutelande is therefore called together with the beaches of Dishoek and West Chapel, the Zeeland Riviera and, with his South Beach to the most visited resorts on the Zeeland coast. Strengthen coastal protection in 2009

In the period from March to October 2009, the existing coastal protection has been extended and amplified to a length of 1.1 kilometers.
