Zoya Ivanova

Soy Ivanova (Russian Зоя Иванова, English transcription Zoya Ivanova, . Born March 14, 1952 in Saton in Petropavlovsk ) is a Kazakh long-distance runner who, starting for the Soviet Union, had its greatest success in the marathon.

Ivanova, who was originally cross-country skier, was from 1981 to 1984 four Soviet consecutive marathon champion. In 1982, she won the Tokyo International Women's Marathon in 2:34:26. In a marathon, the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki she won the 23th Place.

In 1985, she enlisted the IAAF World Cup marathon silver and 1987 gold.

In a marathon, the World Cup 1987 in Rome she won the silver medal behind Rosa Mota (POR ), and prior to Jocelyne Villeton (FRA). In the same year she presented as a third party of the Tokyo International Women's Marathon with 2:27:57 on a Soviet record that still (as of 2008 ) is the Kazakh national record.

In a marathon, the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, she was ninth. In 1989 she won the Los Angeles Marathon and finished sixth at the New York City Marathon. In 1990, she was seventh respectively in the Boston and the New York City Marathon and placed in 25- km road race with 1:28:32 another current Kazakh record.
