ŽRK Budućnost

Zrk Budućnost Podgorica ( Ženski rukometni club Budućnost Podgorica ) is a Montenegrin women's handball club from Podgorica.

History

The zrk Budućnost Podgorica was founded on 13 February 1949. The first success was winning the Yugoslav Cup in 1984. A year later, winning the Yugoslav Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup followed. In the season 1986/87 was followed by the EHF Cup, the second international cup success. From the 1988/89 season dominated Budućnost the respective national championship, and won to the Season 1990/91 regular championship.

At European level, it was not until 2006, when zrk Budućnost was able to record another international title for itself with the European Cup Winners' Cup. In 2010 Budućnost won again the European Cup Winners' Cup. In the 2011/12 season, the team moved the first time in the final of the EHF Champions League. By the away goals rule Budućnost successfully asserted against the Hungarian club Gyori ETO KC and thus celebrated the biggest success in their history.
