History

The Zschopenthaler blue colors work was originally founded in Annaberg. Difficulties in obtaining firewood prompted the co-owner Bergrat Caspar Sigismund of Berbisdorf, 1684 to make a transfer to Zschopenthal. From Berbisdorf already had an iron hammer and the required building site in Zschopenthal. 1689 is reported by a sheet metal hammer, which made ​​cooking hobs. 1692 this work was moved to Neunzehnhain.

1687 began the production of the blue cobalt color flour which was used for the painting of porcelain and ceramics. According to tradition, exported from Berbisdorf it to Delft and Venice. The blue color factory had its own jurisdiction and had its own school.

1850 Zschopenthaler was closed and combined with the plant in panhandle.
