Zsolt Petry

Zsolt Petry [ ʒolt pɛtri ] ( born September 23, 1966 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian football player and current goalkeeping coach.

Petry began his career at the Budapest club MTK Hungaria. In 1987 he moved to Videoton Szekesfehervar, where he became the Hungarian national team. The season 1990/91 he played at Honvéd Budapest, before joining KAA Gent in Belgium. There he remained for four seasons, in which he completed 118 games for KAA. After that, Zsolt Petry became a wanderer, who joined the club each season.

After 30 games for the Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara he returned once for a season to Belgium for RSC Charleroi, where he graduated from 31 games. He then moved to the German Bundesliga first to Eintracht Frankfurt. There, however, he could not pass Oka Nikolov and came to no single application. He went out for the first time in his Hungarian homeland for MTK Hungaria back, but moved in 2000 to the Finnish first division Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat, for in the First Division he guarded the gate 13 times. From Finland we went for him briefly back to Hungary Dunaferr Dunaújváros before the SC Paderborn 07 signed him as a replacement for the Regionalliga Nord. But the next season he moved to league rivals SV Babelsberg 03, with whom he also descended into the league. He remained two years in Babelsberg, before in 2004 he returned to SC Paderborn and witnessed there as a substitute without the use of the rise of the SCP to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2005.

His international career began in the youth ranks of the Hungarian Association, where he was European champion in 1984 with the U18 selection. His debut in the senior team, he gave in 1988 against Greece. Petry was goalkeeper of Hungary in the qualifying rounds for Euro 1992, 1994 World Cup and Euro 1996. His 38th and final international game he played in May 1996 at 0:3 against England.

From 2005 to 2009 he was a goalkeeper coach of SC Paderborn 07, since 2009 he has held the same position at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, from 2008/ 09 to Petry has also worked as goalkeeper coach of the Hungarian national team.
