ZSSK Class 425.95

As a series 425.95, the railway company in Slovakia ZSSK called electric narrow-gauge railcars, which were procured for the location in the High Tatra Tatra Electric Railway.

History

In the late 1990s the replacement of outdated railcars Series 420.95 of the Tatra Electric Railway was urgent. In connection with the application for the Olympic Winter Games 2006, the former Railways of the Slovak Republic ZSR ordered new railcars from Stadler in Switzerland. Stadler delivered in 2000 a total of 15 railcars of the type Stadler GTW 2/6 meter gauge to the ZSR / ZSSK, which supplanted the old railcars from the operation very quickly.
