Zübeyde Hanım

Zübeyde Hanim (* 1857 in Langadas, Vilayet of Thessaloniki, Greece today; † 14 January 1923 in Smyrna, vilayet of Aydın, today Izmir) was the mother of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding father of Turkey. Hanim is not her name, but means lady and is in the Turkish language expression of courtesy and respect.

Zübeyde (now Regional District Thessaloniki ) born in the village Langaza in the Ottoman Empire as the daughter of a Turkish farmer. She was next to her two brothers, the only daughter of Hacısofular family.

Ali Riza Efendi She married and had six children with him: Fatma, Ömer, Ahmet, Makbule, Naciye and 1881 Mustafa. Four of them died at a young age.
