Zubrnice

Zubrnice ( German Saubernitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located in the Central Bohemian mountains 12 km north west of Úštěk on the road to Malé Březno. The village in the Luční Brook (cross stream ) and its tributary creek Zubrnický ( Zinkenbach ) is located in 290 m. asl North of the 683 m high rises Buková hora (Zinc Stone ) with the striking television broadcast tower.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1352. The residents of the borough were living mainly from agriculture. Importance was the fruit and hops. The water power of the cross creek was used for mills.

1890 was the place railway connection to the local railway Large - Billed Wernstadt - Auscha. The line was shut down in 1978. The section Březno - Zubrnice was declared in 1988 on the museum railway. However, the establishment of a regular train service was not made. In 1993, an association which it has set itself the goal to operate the route as a museum railway was built. Initially developed in Zubrnice a railway museum in the station area.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Zubrnice Týniště ( Tünscht ) and Zubrnice ( Saubernitz ), at the same time also form Katastralbezirke. To Zubrnice also the deserted village of Stara Homole heard ( Althummel ).
