Zudáñez

Zudañez is a small town in the department of Chuquisaca in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location

Zudañez bears his name in honor of the freedom fighter Jaime de Zudañez (1772-1832), who was born in this region. Zudañez is the seat of the administration of the province Jaime Zudañez and central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Villa Zudañez at an altitude of 2472 m on the left bank of the flowing northward Río Zudañez. The Río Zudañez is a right tributary of the Bolivian Río Grande and is located in one of the side valleys on the eastern slopes of the Bolivian Cordillera Central.

Geography

Zudañez is located in the transition zone between the Andes mountain range, the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands. The region exhibits a typical day time environment, in which the mean temperature variation during the day more marked than in the course of the year.
