Zuid-Beveland

The peninsula Zuid- Beveland is located in the Dutch province of Zeeland between the Scheldt and Veersemeer in the north and the Westerschelde in the south. About the Sloedamm and both sides eingepolderte areas the Walcheren peninsula is accessible in the West.

The village of Yerseke on the Oosterschelde is the center of the Dutch oyster culture. On the banks of the Westerschelde is the Borssele nuclear power plant in operation.

Traffic routes

The highway A58 and the only railway line in Zeeland, the so-called Lijn Zeeland, Goes connect with Bergen op Zoom on the mainland and Middelburg and Vlissingen on Walcheren. The A256/N256 connects Goes from the northern island of Noord -Beveland. At the eastern beginning of the peninsula of the Scheldt - Rhine Canal traverses the peninsula.
