Zuienkerke is a small Belgian municipality in the Flemish region. It is located in the province of West Flanders and belongs to Arrondissement Bruges. The municipality has 2760 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) and is thus of its inhabitants forth one of the smallest independent municipalities in Belgium. The municipality comprises the main town Zuienkerke with almost 1,500 inhabitants and the villages Houtave, Meetkerke and Nieuwmunster with about 400-500 inhabitants. Zuienkerke has an area of ​​48.86 km ²; the postal code is 8377 and the coordinates are 51 ° 15 'N, 3 ° 09 ' E. The town is still dominated by agriculture, but tourism plays because of its proximity to the places on the coast an increasingly important role.

Zuienkerke is just 6-8 kilometers southwest of the Belgian coast on the English Channel from the seaside resorts of Blankenberge and De Haan at an altitude of only max. 3 meters above sea level.
