Zupus (crater)

Zupus is the remnant of a lunar crater lavagefüllte. It is situated on a south-western outskirts of the Oceanus Procellarum, north-west of Mare Humorum. A system of weak grooves called Rimae Zupus join in the northwest.

Only little remains of the original publication and the crater rim is low and irregular, so that more of the impression of a valley is awakened as a crater. The eastern edge is interrupted by the crater Zupus S. The material that covers the floor of the crater, has a darker color than the surrounding, so that the structure is relatively easy to locate by an observer.
