Žvėrynas

Zverynas (of Lithuanian žvėris: ' Wildlife '; Зверинец Russian, Polish Zwierzyniec ) is a district of Vilnius, which lies in the northwestern part of the city on the right bank of the Neris. The district is connected by two bridges and a pedestrian bridge leading up to the Vingis Park. Zverynas has many old houses and a large proportion of green space Zverynas has about 12,200 inhabitants.

History

Originally Zverynas belonged to Radziwill. 1825 a summer house was built, which was the Resisdenz of the Governor General of the administrative division of Vilnius.
