The Zvezda Stadium (Russian Стадион " Звезда " to German star) is a football stadium in the Russian city of Perm. It can accommodate 16,873 spectators and serves the clubs Amkar Perm and Zvezda 2005 Perm as homestead.

History

The Zvezda Stadium in Perm, a city of almost one million inhabitants in the west of the European part of Russia, was built in 1969 and opened on 5 June of the same year. It happened in the first episode the name Stadium of Lenin Komsomol. With the end of the Soviet Union at the beginning of the 1990s, the name of the stadium of Perm, which henceforth bore the still valid name Zvezda Stadium changed. Currently, the stadium holds 16,873 spectators Zvezda. However, the capacity of the stadiums which is multifunctional lay, but is nowadays mostly used for football games at once far more than 20,000 spectators. Through renovation and safety work over the years, the capacity was reduced to the currently valid numbers.

The Zvezda Stadium is the home venue for two local football clubs. The club Amkar Perm was founded in 1993 and managed some ten years later, the rise in the Premjer - league in which to play ever since. Thus, the Zvezda Stadium since 2003, the venue of the games highest Russian Football League. Even in the highest Russian league on the women, the stadium is represented, as also the home games of the Zvezda 2005 Perm take place. Zvezda 2005 Perm was three times champion Russian woman and one of the best teams in the country. 2009 was Zvezda 2005 Perm in the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League, but they lost to the German representatives FCR 2001 Duisburg.
