Zvezdara

Zvezdara ( Serbian Cyrillic Звездара ) is a municipality of Belgrade. It is located southeast of the old town on the same mountain.

Zvezdara covers an area of 32 km ² and has 132,621 inhabitants.

Name

The name is derived from the Serbian word Zvezdara zvezda for "Star ". The district was named after the 1887 -built observatory ( serb. zvezdarnica ). On the coat of arms you will find the seven stars that form the constellation of the Little Bear.
