Zvi Aharoni

Zvi Aharoni (Hebrew צבי אהרוני; * 1921 when Hermann Aronheim in Frankfurt ( Oder), † 26 May 2012 at Exeter, England) was an Israeli Mossad agent. He was instrumental in the seizure of Adolf Eichmann.

Life

Hermann Aronheim (later Zvi Aharoni ) was born into a middle-class family, his father was a lawyer. He attended Frederick High School in Frankfurt ( Oder).

1938 went Hermann, his brother and mother to Palestine. He lived for several years in a kibbutz, worked in the conservation organization Haganah, joined the British Army where she gained experience in intelligence activities and interviewing suspects. Later, he joined the newly formed Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.

He is regarded as the Mossad agent who " Ricardo Klement " as Adolf Eichmann identified.

On February 26, 1960 Zvi Aharoni flew under false names and with a diplomatic passport to Buenos Aires. With other agents he was observing the Garibaldi Street in San Fernando district. Aharoni observed and photographed Eichmann through a hole in the tarpaulin of a rented pickup truck with a briefcase camera. After the identity was secured, the hot phase of the spectacular action was launched.

On 11 May, 20.05 clock Eichmann rose near his house from the bus. The strongest of the Israelis tried to grab him by the neck and move to a sedan, but both fell into a ditch. When Eichmann was in the car, warned him of the hunters: " If you resist, you will be shot. " Eichmann replied: "I have already found myself to my fate. "

In 1970 the Mossad Aharoni and moved to his retirement home south of England.
