Zvi Heifetz

Zvi Heifetz ( born December 9, 1956 in Tomsk, Siberia) is an Israeli lawyer, entrepreneur, and since 2013 Ambassador of the State of Israel in Austria.

Heifetz was born in 1956 in Siberia, where his family was exiled in 1940. Only Stalin's death made ​​it possible that they could again return to Riga, from where originally came the family. Thus Heifetz spent the first nine months of his life in Siberia and grew thereafter until 1971 in Riga. 1971, when Heifetz was 14 years old, his family emigrated to Israel. Once there, the family near Afula settled down and moved to Petach Tikva later. After graduating from high school Heifetz served seven years in the Israeli army. Heifetz then studied law at the University of Tel Aviv, and then became a member of the Israeli Bar Association. He opened his own law firm in Tel Aviv. 1989 Heifetz was a member of one of the first groups of Israeli diplomats at the Dutch embassy in Moscow. After a few months in Moscow, he returned to Tel Aviv and continued his work as a lawyer continued. In 1997, he served in the Israeli Prime Minister's office as External Legal Adviser in relation to matters concerning the former Soviet Union.

In addition to his work as a lawyer in 1999 he was Deputy Chairman of the Maariv Group. He became chairman of the Hed Arzi - Music Production Company and Tower Records 2001. 2004 Heifetz was Israeli ambassador in the United Kingdom. In 2007, he was succeeded in this post by Ron Proser.

Heifetz is married and the father of seven children.
