Zvolen District

The Okres Zvolen ( German district Zvolen ) is an administrative unit in central Slovakia with 67 678 inhabitants ( 2004) and an area of 759 km ².

Historically, the district is located for the most part in the former county Sohl, a small part in the south ( Truppenübungsplatz LEST ) is part of the former county Gemer and small Hont (see also List of historic counties of Hungary ).
