Zwercheck

View from the northeast

The Zwercheck ( Czech Svaroh ) is a 1,333 m high mountain in the northern Bavarian forest, more precisely in the crest of the Künischen Mountains, which forms the border between Bavaria and the Czech Republic.

On the far area, free summit, a meadow and a smaller rock barrier with summit cross and good views can be found over at the Great Arber and to Kaitersberg and down in the Lamer angle.

1922 built the ski club Pilsen on the Czechoslovak side of the cabin Juránkova chata, which burned as well as a wooden lookout tower and was not rebuilt. Lead to Zwercheck only two official trails, one of the top mountain Haider at Lohberg, the other from the disc caliper to the Brennesstraße between Lohberg and Bavarian Eisenstein. Also possible is the rise along the border, but which is rarely committed by locals. A wild route takes in around 3 hours along the border over to the Osser.
