Zwickauer Damm (Berlin U-Bahn)

Metro Station Zwickau dam is a station of the Berlin U -Bahn line U7. It was opened on January 2, 1970 as part of the extension to Zwickau dam, and is 629 meters from Wutzkyallee metro station and 1103 meters from the underground station Rudow. The station is located in the district of Gropius City, in the station list of the BVG this station has the abbreviation Zd.

The station 's interior was designed by the architect Rainer G. Rümmler and is the last two stations Wutzkyallee and Lipschitzallee of similar style. The station has a center platform with a staircase in the middle, whose walls are made of bricks. The walls of the station are bright ocher and are interrupted by a solid white strip on which the station name is plotted. The center supports are dark gray to black, ceiling and platform have a gray color.

At the opening of the station was the terminus of the U7 Zwickau dam until the line was about two and a half years later expanded to Rudow station on 1 June 1972.

An elevator will be installed 2017/2018, this 1.3 million euro are provided.

At the metro station is next to the connection on the U7 a transfer possibility for bus and coach transport BVG.
