Forcing ( in the local dialect: [ ʦʋɪŋ ː ə ] ) is a village and a municipality in the district of Laufen in the canton of Basel-Landschaft.

Geography

Forcing is located in Laufental to 347 m asl at the mouth of Lüssel in the Birs. Neighboring municipalities are running, Brislach, Nenzlingen, blue and Dittingen.

History

For the first time forcing is mentioned as Zinwigen on 14 March 1194 as it by Pope Celestine III. was the monastery Beinwil promised as a possession. From 1312 it was as a fief in the men of Ramstein. In the Middle Ages, especially the Oswaldkapelle important. Traffic
