Zyklon-B (band)

Zyklon -B ( not to be confused with the German Nazi rock band Zyklon B ) was a Norwegian black metal band that existed from 1995 to 1999. The band's name refers to the originally developed as a pesticide Zyklon B, which was used in the time of National Socialism in gas chambers; the tape had the booklet for EP and interviews indicate that she is apolitical.

The band consisted of Tomas " Samoth " Haugen Thormodsæter (guitar and bass) and Vegard Sverre " Ihsahn " Tveitan (keyboards) from the band Emperor, Kjetil "Frost" Haraldstad (drums) of Satyricon and Björn " Aldrahn " Dencker Gjerde (vocals ) of Dodheimsgard. The band played only a single eleven-minute EP, to the then imprisoned ex- Emperor and ex - drummer Bård G. Thorns Eithun contributed the text to Bloodsoil. The three pieces contained therein have also been published on a split with Sword Master. The piece Warfare was published in 1999 in a different version under the name Total Warfare ( Sea Serpent Remix) on a split with Mayhem. This remix is also included on re-releases of the EP.

Zyklon-B was playing with a consistently fast form of black metal with a subtle keyboard use and without the usual Norwegian Black Metal bands screeching vocals.

From 1998 to 2010 played guitar Haugen in the now also defunct band cyclone.
