18 Months ( German: 18 months) is the title of the third studio album by the Scottish singer and producer Calvin Harris. It was released worldwide in October 2012 and reached number one in Britain and number two in Ireland. For this album eight singles have been released, which in the United Kingdom, all were able to place in the top 10 there. He holds the record in this country with the most Top 10 singles from a single album, now before Michael Jackson's albums Bad and Dangerous, each with seven extractions.

Formation

The album title is both an allusion to the long production time of the album. 18 months before the completion of the album, Harris was determined to put his focus on music production and DJ'ing. The work with the guest artists prepared Harris much joy because it was musicians with whom he wanted to work in the studio for some time. On the other hand, it was for him a sales-promoting experiment in which he wanted to find out how many well-known musicians, he could gather on this album. In addition, the involvement of these artists was a reason for the long development time of the album. Although some people were skeptical as to whether this experiment will work at all, but the success of the first single We Found Love with Rihanna admitted these doubts.
