  • 27 January to 14 February: The Exposition Internationale du Surréalisme, an exhibition of artists of surrealism, is carried out in the run of Georges Wildenstein Gallery Beaux -Arts in Paris. Organizers are the French writer André Breton, the head and theorist of the Surrealists, as well as the most famous poet of the movement, Paul Éluard. Designed as a total work of art event showcases 229 works by 60 exhibitors from 14 countries and includes paintings, art objects, collages, photographs and installations.
  • JULY 19: Salvador Dalí met Sigmund Freud in his London home and explained to him the deep psychological aspects of Surrealism. He paints on this occasion the portrait of Sigmund Freud.
