The 67th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1953 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.
In the year of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II all players received an ashtray as a reminder.
Men's Singles
Vic Seixas won his only Wimbledon singles title. In the final he defeated the Danes Kurt Nielsen in three sets.
Women's Singles
In the women's Maureen Connolly defended her title. Connolly succeeded in this year's first Grand Slam of the ladies.
Men's doubles
In the men's doubles Lew Hoad and Ken Rosewall won.
Women Doubles
Shirley Fry and Doris Hart won in the women's doubles their third consecutive title.
Mixed
In mixed Doris Hart and Vic Seixas won.
