1965–66 DDR-Oberliga

The 1965/66 season was the 17th edition of the East German Oberliga. It began on August 14, 1965 and ended on 14 May 1966. Champion for the fifth time the team of Forward Berlin. This game was a period marked by the establishment of football clubs based on the sports club sections.

Formation of football clubs

To promote the development of football specific, the DTSB 1965, the formation of independent football clubs, to its end, the football departments have been extracted from the sports clubs decided. Course of the season

Player of the year

After the season was first honored as Player of the Year in 1966 Jürgen Nöldner FC Vorwärts Berlin. Nöldner was one of the most influential players in the premier league champions forward. In second place was Dieter Erler, who was to receive this award in the following year.

Fdgb Cup

International Competitions
