1969–70 French Rugby Union Championship
The season 1969/70 was the 71st of the French rugby union championship. It included 64 teams in the top league ( of today's top 14).
The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group phase in which eight teams played in eight groups against each other. The four winners of each group moved into the K - o.Runde. This was followed by sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals. In the final game, which was held in Toulouse on May 17, 1970 at the Stadium Municipal, clashed the two semi-final winners and played for the Bouclier de Brennus. Here, La Voulte Sportif prevailed against AS Mont Ferrand and won the only league title in club history.
