1978 BDO World Darts Championship
The BDO World Darts Championship 1978 officially 1978 Embassy World Darts Championship were held from 6 to 10 February 1978 at The Heart of the Midlands in Nottingham. The first edition of the World Cup in Darts organized by the British Darts Organisation ( BDO) and transmitted by the broadcaster British Broadcasting Corporation ( BBC ) television.
Prizes
Total prize money of 10,500 pounds sterling were paid:
- Winner: £ 3,000
- Runners-up: £ 1,700
- 3rd place: £ 1,000
- 4th place: £ 800
- Quarterfinals: £ 500
- First round: £ 250
