1979–80 Austrian Football Bundesliga
The Austrian Football Championship 1979/80 was hosted by the Austrian Football Association. As a foundation for the single-track 1st Division 2nd Division served. As Austrian champion, the Austria failed to qualify for the European Cup in 1981, Cupfinalist Austria Salzburg was allowed at the European Cup Winners' Cup participate in 1981, the two beaten Linzer Followers VOEST and LASK represented Austria football in the UEFA Cup in 1981. All four clubs have failed in the first round.
