1980 Norwegian First Division

The first Divisjon 1980 was the 36th season of the highest Norwegian Football League and the 18th season under the name 1 Divisjon. The season began on 27 April 1980 and ended on 19 October 1980.

Mode

The twelve teams played in a single round with round-trip game against each other so that each team completed 22 games. Master was the Leading after the last matchday. The last three teams had to dismount.

Season

IK Start is the second time Norwegian champion.

From the beginning it was very close. Although only two teams ( IK Start and Bryne IL) ever stood at the head of the whole season, but up to five teams had the chance of becoming champions.
