1983 World Rally Championship season

The World Rally Championship 1983 was held in a frame of 12 scoring runs from 22 January to 23 November. Hannu Mikkola to Audi Quattro became the first driver with a four-wheel drive vehicle, the drivers' championship title. Walter Röhrl Lancia was runner-up and missed the drivers' title, because he had the Scandinavian and most non-European rallies omitted. The last time won this season with the rear-wheel drive Lancia 037 (also known as the Lancia Rally 037) a vehicle, the Manufacturers' World Championship, which did not have all-wheel drive.
