1996 King Hassan II International Cup Tournament
The first King Hassan II Tournament was held on December 11 and 12 place in 1996 in the city of Casablanca in Morocco and the country was an invitational tournament for national soccer teams. Addition to the host Morocco and the selections from Croatia, the Czech Republic and Nigeria took part. The tournament was played in the knockout system, on the first day the two semi-finals were played, a day on the third-place match and the final.
Croatia was able to secure the title by two successes in a penalty shootout, hosts Morocco was third.
