2001–02 Bundesliga (women)

The Bundesliga 2001/2002 was the twelfth season of the football league for women. The first FFC Frankfurt was the third time German champion.

The course of the season

The Hamburg lost the first 14 games and then brought in their last eight games eight points, and was thus at least the Red Lantern from.

In comparison to the previous season (3.7 goals per game), the goal tally was only slightly lower at 3.6 goals per game.

The viewing figures hit a new high since the introduction of the single-track women's Bundesliga, although there was only a slight increase. 294 spectators attended on average the games (2000/ 01: 273). A total of 38,996 saw the 132 games. Most of the spectators were at the Frankfurt derby between 1 FFC and the FSV ( 1400 ). The play 1 FC Saarbrücken FFC Heike Rheine against saw only 70 spectators.
