2001 Vuelta a EspaÃ±a

The 56th Vuelta a España was held from September 8 to September 30, 2001. There were a total of 21 stages including three time trial, a mountain time trial and six mountain finishes. The tour started in Salamanca and ended after 3008.6 kilometers covered traditionally in Madrid. There were a total of five winners of the Golden Jerseys the overall leader.
