2005–06 Elite Women's Hockey League

The 2005/06 season was the second season of the Elite Women's Hockey League, a woman Hockey League. In its second year, between 17 September 2005 and 15 January 2006 took a total of eleven teams from Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia in part. The second champion of the league was the League rookie HC Slovan Bratislava.

Mode

Due to the expansion of the league to three teams, two divisions were formed with six and five participants for the main round. The participants of each division played in a double round in the league system of the courts, so that each team in the North East Division ten and each team the South West Division fought out eight games. The team with the most points won the first place after the main round. For a victory - after extra time - was a team two points. The losing team received no points after the regular time. In a defeat after extra time but a point.

After completion of the main round, the four-point best teams in each division qualified for the playoffs. There the playoff winner and thus master the League was played in three rounds in the best- of-two mode. Similarly, a placement round for places 5-8 were organized for the defeated in the playoff quarterfinals teams.

The matches of the group Nord-Ost were held between 17 September and 20 November 2005.

South West Division

The matches of the group South West were held between 17 September and 19 November 2005.

Placement Round 9-11 places

The Placement Round the teams that did not qualify for the playoffs, took place between 3 December 2005 and 15 January 2006.
