2006–07 TFF Second League

The TFF Lig B 2006/07 was the 36th season of the third highest in the Turkish league professional men's soccer. She was started on 13 August 2006 with the first round of the qualifying round and finished on May 26, 2007 with the play-off final.

Competition mode

In the season 2006/ 07, the third highest division was held essentially as described in the pre-season in three stages. In the first stage, the league was played in a qualifying round ( Turkish Kademe Grupları ) in five groups of ten teams with home and away matches. After the end of Stage 1, the first two teams were from all groups in a common group, the promotion round ( Turkish Yükselme Grubu ), recorded, and played here for promotion to the Lig A. The remaining teams in the five groups of the qualifying round played in an unchanged group constellation now in a relegation round ( Turkish Duesme Grupları ) to the descent into the third TFF Lig Both the promotion round and the relegation round this represented the second stage and played with return game. The teams on the first two courses in the promotion round went directly to the First League and the last two teams of all groups of the relegation round rose from the TFF Lig 3. The third stage was carried out again in the form of a play-off round. Only the playoff was not played as last season with 16 teams, but with eight teams. The 2nd place occupied Kartalspor, reaching promotion to the second Lig A Kategorisi. The play-offs were carried out as a neutral city in Bursa and played among the teams Adana Demirspor, Alanyaspor, MKE Kirikkalespor, Etimesgut Şekerspor, Marmaris Belediye Gençlikspor KDC Karabükspor, Giresunspor and Kahramanmarasspor. In the play-off final, Giresunspor sat with 5-1 against Adana Demirspor and scored after eight years of absence, participating in the second Lig A Kategorisi. As relegated stood at end of season Yalovaspor, Oyak SK ( group 1), Nazilli Belediyespor, Muglaspor (Group 2), Keciörengücü, Darıca Gençlerbirliği (group 3), Tokatspor, Ünyespor (group 4) and Siirtspor, Cizrespor ( Group 5 ) firmly.

Start of the season Ankara Şekerspor changed his club name in Etimesgut Şekerspor and Yozgatspor into Yimpas Yozgatspor.
