2011–12 TFF Second League
The TFF 2 Lig 2011/12 was the 41st season of the third highest Turkish league for football the men. She was started on 11 September 2011 with the 1st Round and ended on May 20, 2012 with the 34th game day. The start of the season postponed as a result of a manipulation scandal. Since 17 teams per group existed, paused a team on each match. End of May 2012 ended the 2011/12 season with the relegation matches between the second - to fifth-placed.
In the season 2011/12 TFF Lig 2 was divided into two groups. There each played 17 teams in the "white group " ( beyaz grup ) and the " red group " ( kirmizi grup ) for promotion to the TFF 1 Lig or against relegation in the Viertklassigkeit (TFF Lig 3 ). The classification of the teams in the respective groups was determined by draw. The draw took place in the Turkish capital Ankara on September 10, 2011.
The table first in both groups rise directly to the higher TFF 1 Lig. The teams ranked two to five in both groups participate in the play-offs, where the third climber is determined by knockout system. The play-offs will be played in a neutral to all teams and the city, beginning with the quarter-finals at. Here, the Second Table of the one group competes against the fifth-placed in the other group and the third table of one group against the fourth-placed in the other group. Each knockout round is discharged through an encounter.
The teams ranked fifteen to seventeen will be relegated to the third TFF Lig.
In the second TFF Lig foreign players are not eligible to play. Teams that are descended from the TFF 1 Lig can borrow their foreign players at clubs in the top leagues.
At the beginning of the season are the remaining from the previous season, 25 teams, the two relegated from the TFF 1 Lig Altay Izmir, Diyarbakirspor and the six climbers from the TFF Lig 3 Tepecikspor, Gaziosmanpaşaspor, Denizli Belediyespor, Kirklarelispor, Ünyespor and Altınordu Added Izmir.
Şanlıurfaspor reached the penultimate round of the championship group White and thus increased after eleven years on abstinence in the TFF 1 Lig. 1461 Trabzon also reached the penultimate round of the championship group and red rose for the first time in the club's history in the TFF 1 Lig on.
The last Movers was determined by the play-offs. In the relegation managed as a second - to fifth-placed from the group White Balikesirspor, Bozüyükspor, Bugsas Spor, Turgutluspor and from the group Red Bandirmaspor, Adana Demirspor, Fethiyespor, Kizilcahamamspor. As a neutral venue for the play-offs the city of Denizli has been selected. In the final phase of the relegation Adana Demirspor rose with a 2-1 victory over Fethiyespor after eight years of absence, on the TFF 1 Lig.
End of the season the teams Diyarbakirspor, Çorumspor, Kocaelispor and from the group Red Altınordu Izmir, Adiyamanspor and Mardinspor are descended from the group white. Diyarbakirspor is thus descended within three seasons of the Süper Lig in the third TFF Lig and the Movers Altınordu Izmir has descended again after just one season.
Scorer with 24 goals was Ustun Bilgi from the Central Anatolian representatives Kizilcahamamspor.

- * Mardinspor could not pay the players' wages and lost in the winter break, several players due to financial difficulties. Thus, one had to set up a team is not able in the first two games of the season. Then, the Disciplinary Committee ( PFDK ) of the national football association decided, with respect to its regulations to allow relegated the club with immediate effect. All remaining meetings of the association were canceled and decided in advance with a 0-3 defeat. For the 2012/13 season the club will participate in the competition of third Lig TFF.
