2008–09 Albanian Superliga

In the Kategoria Superiore 2008/ 09 ( also called Kampionati Shqiptra ) played twelve clubs in Albania 's top soccer class for the championship. The Albanian Championship was held for the 68th time, for the eleventh time under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 24 August 2008 and ended on 23 May 2009. Champion KF Tirana. A total of 427 goals were scored, corresponding to an average of 2.16 goals per game. Scorer was Migen Memelli of Master KF Tirana, who scored 23 goals.

Course of the season

The record champions KF Tirana moved with the title win in the qualification for the UEFA Champions League. He scored the most goals (58 ), conceded the fewest (27) and so won the 24th league title in club history. After the three rounds of eleven league games KF Tirana had four points ahead of runner-up Vllaznia Shkoder. Defending champion Dinamo Tirana was third. This Shkodra and Tirana Dinamo moved into the qualifying for UEFA Europa League. This competition also reached Cup Winners Flamurtari Vlora. The League Sixth defeated in the final of the champions KF Tirana 2-1 and thus prevented the double of the capital club.

The teams ranked 11 and 12 had to dismount directly. The Tenth and Ninth had to deny relegation matches against the third respectively fourth of the 2nd league. Knapp went to the relegation battle: The Last KF Elbasani had only three points behind the first non-relegation place, which was occupied by freshman Apolonia Fier. The eleventh KS Lushnja went straight off again, but missed only because of the goal difference against Partizani Tirana a relegation place. The second club next Partizani, who had in the play-offs, was Bylis Ballsh, also a league newcomer. Direct from the 2nd league went on for the new season KF Laçi and Skënderbeu Korçë. Also new in the league were for the 2009/10 season Kastrioti Kruja and Gramozi Erseka. They sat down in the relegation to the first division by two.
