2008–09 FFHG Division 1 season
The season 2008/ 09 Division 1, the second highest French Hockey League was won by the Rapaces de Gap, which thereby were promoted to the Ligue Magnus. The Chiefs de Deuil- Garges and the Jets de Viry -Châtillon alighted at the Division 2.
Mode
In the main round, the 14 teams completed 26 games each. The top eight teams qualified for the playoffs, in which the second division champion was pitted. The two last placed the main round up directly from the Division 2. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
