The Grand Prix of Great Britain 2010 took place on July 11 held at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone and was the tenth race of the Formula 1 2010 season.

Background
After the European Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton led the drivers' standings with six points ahead of Jenson Button and twelve points ahead of Sebastian Vettel. McLaren -Mercedes resulted in the constructors' championship with 30 points ahead of Red Bull-Renault and 89 points ahead of Ferrari.
With Michael Schumacher ( three times), Rubens Barrichello, Fernando Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel ( once each ) were five former winners of this Grand Prix.
The course was rebuilt and took place in 2010 on the new "Arena" variant.
When HRT led to the first driver change of the season. Bruno Senna was replaced by Sakon Yamamoto, who recently went to the start at the Brazilian Grand Prix 2007.
Training
In the first free practice session on Friday Vettel posted the fastest lap before Hamilton and Robert Kubica. Paul di Resta took over for this training the cockpit of Vitantonio Liuzzi. In the second free practice Vettel's team-mate Webber posted the fastest lap. In second place and three followed Alonso and Vettel. In the third free practice session on Saturday, Vettel led again to the forefront of the field. Webber was second ahead of Alonso.
Qualifying
In the first qualifying session Vettel set the fastest lap. The HRT, Virgin and Lotus pilots and Jaime Alguersuari dropped out. In the second qualifying segment Webber took the lead from his team-mates. The Force India drivers, Buemi, Petrov, Button, Hulkenberg and Kobayashi dropped out. In the final section, finally Vettel secured the pole position ahead of his team-mate Webber and Alonso.
Liuzzi has been restored after qualifying five places on the grid. The Italians had impeded its faster round, although it had been shown blue flags Hulkenberg.
Red Bull Racing came after qualifying again at a team interen dispute, as Webber found himself at a disadvantage compared to Vettel after he had to leave his front wing to Vettel, whose copy was damaged in training. The team had brought only two front wings of this specification.
Race
At the start of the Grand Prix of Great Britain, which had 120,000 viewers completely sold out, the second-placed Red Bull - Renault driver Webber won against his starting from the pole position teammate Vettel. Behind Rosberg led to a duel between Kubica and Alonso. After the Ferrari driver Kubica had attacked several times, he attacked Kubica at the exit of the Stowe and lay before the Vale of him. His team-mate Vettel profited, however, by the safety car phase, because he again received the connection to the driver in front of him.
While Webber pulled away over again after the safety car period, Vettel made in the middle of some positions well and he improved after five overtaking maneuvers to seventh place. Most Recent Least took his last battle against his compatriot Adrian Sutil. The Ferrari driver suffered both in the final stages of the race in position battles a puncture and had to complete an additional pit stop. After Alguersuari had failed eight laps to go with a brake failure, Webber secured his third win of the season ahead of Hamilton and Rosberg.
